I was sitting on this couch when I first seriously considered that I was gay. She walked into the coffee shop and it was over after that. To this day, I don't know whether I was always gay or if something changed in that moment. Now, every time I go into this coffee shop, I stop and smile, because my entire life changed while sitting on that couch.

what is significant furniture?

significant furniture was created in an effort to allow people to share their stories through images of significant pieces of furniture. just as smell and sound are triggers for long lost memories, pieces of furniture can hold meaning or a memory. the hope is that this can be a space to share those significant moments.
